The day continues...

I want to meet the person who has some how stopped time. This day is dragging on at an almost painful pace. My butt hurts from sitting in these chairs...

AAK...in response to your previous comment, no I am not pooping when I mean executive session. It is plenty warm. Almost hot, no need to find the coat. Also AAK...you need to give me the privilege to read your blog...you have it set to not let me in. What fun is that?

Lunch was good...that is about all the great things I have to report today. My heart is aching a bit...I miss my family an aweful lot. I think we sometimes take for granted how much we need to have some people around us in our lives and I need Jenny and Sharkboy around me. I will make this brief, but the meaning is anything but brief. I love you...I will see you guys soon.

Well it is now time to go in and sit through some debate over the future of the United Methodist Church through out the state of Indiana. So if I don't just drop over dead from frustration or bordom...I will post later.

Be Kind, Be Safe....

From the road...

Greetings blog readers....I am in West Lafayette right now for annual conference for my church. It has been a slow process, but time is still moving forward, just at a snails pace. The best part of the whole thing is that I get good broadband connection here and am able to blog. I am sitting right now in an executive session...and am using my blog time as a crutch to stay awake.

Yesterday I was able to play hooky from the afternoon session. I can honestly say that it was an example of reading ahead actually got me ahead. In school I was never very good at reading ahead let alone reading my assigned reading. But this time I was already informed and could skip the information sessions this afternoon. I played a course called Coyote Crossing. It was very nice. The course was in excellent condition and I was able to move right around without any waiting.

Last night I was able to meet up with our old neighbor Gayle. She lives down here, for another couple weeks. We had dinner and were able to catch up. We ate at what I like to call a "Stripmall Mexican Place". You know the mexican restaurants that pop up in stripmalls. You know you won't be dissappointed when the only english the staff speaks is whatever is printed in the menu(exactly how it is printed, no substitutions are allowed). I had yummy combo burrito and a beer.

Yesterday at lunch I was able to sneak away and catch some of the NCAA Division 1 Golf Tournament that is going on here at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. I had a stroke of genius...I was dressed in my golf shirt and khakis and when I walked up to the gate to get on the course I flashed my badge and they ushered me in. No quesitons asked. I have never tried anything like that before, but it worked and I was able to watch some pretty good college golf and get out and get some fresh air during lunch break(and it was all free).

On the plans for lunch today is get out and visit some firehouses around West Lafayette. Go out and meet some of my brothers and sisters that are doing what I love to do and miss...weird, I am on vacation and I miss my job. Then I am not sure what is up for dinner. Maybe dinner with Gayle again, or maybe I may get out and do some networking with the other conference goers. We will see what I am motivated to do.

So I hope you are all having a good day...I will be back later to update some more.

So....Be Kind, Be Safe.

Shalom my Peeps!

The crazy week so far...

Hey blog readers and fans. I am now reconnected to the electronic world again. Oh and it feels so much better. You know, I never thought I would say this, but 3 days without internet...were clearly 3 too many. I missed it and I missed submitting to my blog. So here are the last few days as they have unfolded and I saw them. So sit back and enjoy...it may get a little windy, but there is a lot to cover.

Well Monday I made the trek north to Gull Lake, in beautiful Richland, Mi. For the annual David Kubsch Memorial Golf Outing. It is a group of 16-20 guys that get together every year to play golf, drink, tell stories and smoke cigars. We got there early enough this year to play 18 holes on Monday. It was a beautiful course called Yarrow. I am not kidding you people when I say this, that is the most picturesque course I have ever been on. This course was long and wide open. They had American flags for the pin markers, that I believe were in honor of Memorial Day. After playing this course however I think they were actually to assure you that you were still in the United States and hadn't crossed over into Canada. Monday night we got in our usual circle and caught up with old friends and made some new ones. Lots of libations were consumed and the smoke from the cigars kept the bugs and strangers away.

Tuesday we woke up to a very chilly morning. We dedicated our Memorial rock to David Kubsch, the name sake of our outing. David was a fellow golfer in this group. He was taken from us suddenly just before last years outing in a tragic plane crash. David was a commercial pilot, and died doing what he loved most, flying. David was also the son of one of our golfers. So in honor and memory of him we placed a rock at the first hole of his favorite course at Gull Lakeview West. We miss you David and I hope you are honored by this little gesture we had to offer.

Back to the blog. It was overcast and about 40 degrees. Not to worry though...we all went out anyway. It was a pretty chilly 18 holes. I am going to use that as my excuse that I didn't play that well. You know with the wind blowing the ball around in the air and the cold hands and feet, you just can't play a good round. So afterwords we decided to warm up at the hotel with some drinks and cigars. In the evening I put my Chef's hat on and made steaks (bone in Ribeye) with roasted potatoes with Mushroom and Onions. Yummy. There wasn't an empty stomach in the group. We were in bed a little earlier this night...we had a big day ahead on Wednesday.

Wednesday we had our big tournament. We play 36 holes this day. The first we score in a bingo, bango, bongo format and the second we straight scramble. The weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny, and cool...the golf was pretty much the polar opposite. The second 18 was the absolute slowest round of golf I have ever played. We had a group of players(and I use that term loosely) would stand around on the tee box and on the greens just visiting. Ok folks...the course is for shooting the ball the clubhouse is for shooting the shit. Play and get out of the way. Now I don't know how many golfers are blog readers/fans, but it took us 6 hours to scramble 18 holes and that is unacceptable. As a result I missed my chance to see my friend Scully when she was in town. I am so sorry Scully...I feel horrible and wish I could have had a little time to catch up. But we had a nice talk on the phone and I look forward to the next chance we have, whenever it may be. After getting home Wednesday...I switched suitcases.

I then headed down to West Lafayette for Annual confernce for my church. I am currently sitting in the first executive session. I arrived here last night at 2:30am and crashed in the hotel. It was a long day and for those of you keeping score...I am currently on the 350 mile mark for the week and 3rd night away in a hotel. I am dragging, but am hoping to slip out later and catch 9 holes(it is an addiction). But if I didn't blog, I would most likely not be conscious right now, and it is rude to snore in a group of 1,000 or so church heads. I will be here until Saturday morning.

I have to say that I don't really have a Sharkboy update. I am more sorry to Sharkboy than anybody else on this point. I miss him so much. It breaks my heart that I can't give him a hug or play with him. I look forward to hearing his voice everyday...even if it is in the background of a phone conversation with Jenny, I will see you Saturday little man. Keep taking care of Mommy, you are doing a great job. Speaking of Mommy...I have to say Thank you! This is a week that it is pretty shitty to be my wife. I am gone, and it is difficult for us to communicate. Just know that I love you very much and I will also see you on Saturday, please hang in there. I appreciate you very much.

Well that is about all I have to offer for this blog. I am looking forward to a couple of this coming up. Dinner tonight with our old neighbor Gayle, and maybe even getting to play 9 or 18 holes of golf in the West Lafayette area. So that is all for now...remember to appreciate your friends and family.

Be Kind, Be Safe...

Shalom my peeps!!!

Looking forward to this week...

Hey blog fans, here is the latest update. Lots of stuff has happened since the last entry...and out of fear of getting carpal tunnel, I will only hit the high points. So sit back and enjoy the ride...

Thursday was Sharkboy's last day at PDO for the year. He said goodbye to all of his teachers and his little buddies for the summer. I took the whole day off so I could handle drop off and pick up duties. It was a lot of fun and he was whipped tired. The basically played outside all day. While he was at school I did some shopping for my trips this coming week. Productive day for both of us. After school we went home and played outside until Jenny got home. Then it was off to New Carlisle for the Thursday night Chior trip. Sharkboy and I hung out at Memaw and Grandpa's house while Jenny was singing.

Thursday night I hit Hooters with UNC. It was fun. It was bike night, so all the motorcycles were there. We had a couple beers and chatted with the Hooters girls. Good times...

Friday I worked at the part time gig. Much of the same there. However PIA wasn't there so I didn't have to put up with that shit. I actually was quite productive. Put away a ton of freight. That night we had Volcano pizza...OMG...Yum!!! Jenny had the idea, and a grand idea it was. I absolutely Love volcano pizza.

Saturday we spent the day running errands. We hit Grammy Karen and Pa Bruce's where they were having a garage sale. AAK and UNC were selling thing they no longer needed. We just hung out and Sharkboy got to play with girls. However when he was not playing with the girls, he was selling. This nice lady made the mistake of saying Hi to him. He was cute, and she thought how much harm could saying Hi do. Think of it this way...have you ever been to a used car lot and made the mistake of saying hello to a salesman. We all have, they follow you around asking you questions and seeming to not be pressuring you while the whole time you feel pressed like a pair of trousers at a chinese laundry...that is what happened to this lady. At one point Sharkboy was following her down the driveway saying "hey lady want to buy this...it's pretty nice." She asked what it was and I informed Sharkboy that it was a Quesadilla maker and he told her it was a real nice Quesadilla maker and she should buy it. She had that freshly pressed look to her and made a bee line out of there. My little man is quite the high pressure salesman. I see appliances in his future.

Last night we made contact with Scully. It is real exciting, she will be in "The Bend" this coming week. The sad part is I won't...more on that later. But I am hoping to catch up with her on Wednesday night while I pass through town. So if your reading this and you live in South Bend or a reasonable distance...she will be at the Hacienda on Portage at 6pm. Come say hi and hang out a bit.

Today is my only day working this rotation. Between training and cleaning my truck and getting ready for my trip next week that is about it for today. I am heading out tomorrow to Gull Lake for the annual golf outing. There will be plenty of alcohol, cigars, stories, and general anarchy. Wednesday I will pass through South Bend on my way to West Lafayette for annual conference for my church. So there will be no blogs on Monday and Tuesday and most likely with how late I will be getting to the hotel on Wednesday...maybe not Wednesday either...but definately Thurs. So until then blog readers...vote in the poll and hang in there, I'll be back.

Oh yeah...welcome to the blog world AAK. You can check out her blog at:

Poll Results...

Well blog fans it has been a busy little 4-day. I am back for my one day that I am working this rotation and am trying to catch some things up. I have a list of things that I am going to blog about later, but for now here are the poll results from last week.

1 person each figure gas will either level off at $4 or be more than $6 (each equalling 11% of the voting)

7 of you thought it would level off at $5 (or 77% of the voting)

9 total people voted this week...Thank you voters. In a hope to draw more voters this week I have decided to have a topic near and dear to all of our hearts. Ice Cream. So look to the left and vote. If your flavor isn't there, comment it to me on a blog and I will include it next week in the blog.

Be Kind and Be Safe this holiday weekend.

L.F.D. and Today...

Hey blog readers...sorry for no blog last night. I was a bit on the tired side. I don't sleep well at Sta. 1 so in turn...I was pretty tired last night. 37 hour turn went off without a hitch. I am now in the midst of my 4 day. So here is the last two days in my life...enjoy.

Yesterday was LFD...It was filled with lots of stuff to do. We got some cleaning and mowing done in the morning. Then after lunch I went to the CTC (Command Training Center) for some training. The CTC is a facililty where we can do virtual firefighting. More decision making skills rather than actual physical skills, water doesn't mix well with computers. So long story short, in the scenario I was left in the kitchen of an apartment a little too long so I had to call a Mayday. It wasn't planned however...it ended up being the computer locked up. I really wasn't trapped. Thank goodness it was just a computer goof up.

We had a walk through of an abandoned building and then supper. After supper UNC came by with the girls and had his car seat installed properly by yours truely. The girls then got to climb around on the fire trucks...it sure is nice to have an Uncle Jay that can facilitate that. However MoMo kept saying in her little 2 y/o voice. "Don't start it" everytime she got in the trucks and "This is so cool". She was really cute. I gave them little fire hats to take home.

Today I worked the part time gig...nuff said. I am not sure how long this part time gig is going to hold on. The money virsus the constant battle with the full time person may end up not being a good balance.

Tonight when I got home I mowed the yard and got things looking good again. I absolutely love the look of a fresh mowed lawn. It could be one of my favorite things. Then it was play time with Sharkboy.

During American Idol tonight, David Cook(the eventual winner) was singing with ZZ Top. Which was very cool in it's own right. Sharkboy was getting into it and singing along while playing air guitar. But that isn't the funny part. During the song there is a lyric that says the following: "Every girls crazy bought a sharp dressed man". Sharkboy however was singing and said..."Hey that's me, every girls crazy about a shark dressed man". Jen and I immediately burst into laughter...driving him into an air guitar riff like none other. It is one of those "Out of the mouths of babes" moments.

That is about all I have to offer this evening. Tomorrow I am on Sharkboy to and from school detail and while he is at school I have some shopping to do. Shoes and clothes girls...I know your jealous. And then to New Carlisle for the "Thursday Night Chior" trip and maybe a trip to Hooters with UNC...we will see how things unfold.

So until next time...

Daddy Day in review...

Hey blog readers...here I am at work again. I am starting a 37 hour turn. Tonight at Sta. 1 and then on to Sta. 3(home) for the remainder of the shift. Today was Daddy day with Sharkboy. So here is the run down.

Got home from work and Sharkboy was still in his "Big Boy" bed. After he woke up I went in and we had a nice little chat about Daddy being at work. I think we are on the same page now...We watched Disney Channel and had Cheesy eggs for breakfast and the morning was spent on the floor playing with his semi trucks(Macks to him). I asked what he wanted for lunch and he said he wanted a nap...and off he went to bed. The plan for the afternoon was go to Meijer and get dinner for tomorrow night, since I have to cook. Then we would go to the park. Well after the nap and a snack he noticed his little friend accross the street outside and wanted to play there more. So they played and the neighbor watched him while I went to the store. That was pretty much our day. Lots of playing and quality time.

Jenny got home and I pretty much had to run right out the door. So I didn't really get a chance to hear about her day. So my catch up with her will have to wait until Wed. evening.

So here I sit at the firehouse. With nothing really else to add. I am sure I will have more to add tomorrow since we will be training most of the day, and training usually produces some pretty good stories. So until tomorrow...

A whole lot of nothing...

Greetings blog readers...the title in itself pretty much sums up my day today (not to mention it could be a good blog name for somebody).

Today was fire station day. A whole lot of nothing is actually good for the general public. Not for the adrenaline craving firemen that protect them, but you know it isn't all about us. But after a nice breakfast with the boys we had a nice morning of little projects. As is typical with the fire house there was story telling and the occasional zinger jabbed in fun. To sum up the rest of our day we had foam training after lunch and then settled in for a nice relaxing afternoon of catching up on '80s movie reruns. UNC stopped by just before dinner and showed off his new ride. It is very nice. It has this proximity chip thing and he doesn't have to put a key in the car to start it. Now that is a cool gadget...

Sharkboy and Jenny enjoyed a productive day according to the phone calls. Sharkboy slept well in his new big boy bed and was more than happy to let Dan, my driver, know all about it when he stopped to drop off some things that I had forgotten this morning (it is nice to live so close to the station). Tonight Sharkboy called in tears. For the first time that I can remember he was sad because he missed his Daddy. It was sad, and I just wanted to reach through the phone and give him a hug. Tomorrow is a Daddy day, and I am going to try and make up my absence today to him. We may go to the movies.

Jenny went grocery shopping...Thank God! She assures me that we now have food in the house and Sharkboy and I should not starve tomorrow. I am sure I have mentioned this before, but she is the greatest. Thanks Honey, for all that you do to keep this family running smoothly.

Well, that is about all I have for tonight. Tomorrow as I said is Daddy Day with Sharkboy, so I will update you on that tomorrow. I will have my blog glasses on watching for blog worthy stories. I hope you all have a good week...

So until tomorrow...Be Kind, Be Safe...

Shalom my Peeps!!!

Random Post...

Hey blog readers...just a random post, mostly out of despiration to have something to do, but also to point something out. So here it goes.

The local weather people were predicting today to be a gloomy and cold day. I was just outside, it is by no means gloomy. It is a bit chilly, but not gloomy. You know, I have actually figured out in my aged wisdom that the only thing weather people are good at predicting is when the weather segment is on, on the evening news.

Well that is all I had...hope you can get out and enjoy some of this sunshine!

Check out the new survey...

Hey Blog fans...

I have posted a new poll. Take a few moments and give me your feedback.

Just so you know...Last weeks results were 71% of you followed me from Myspace, and the rest heard about me from a friend. Only 7 people responded though...So tell a friend and vote. In the words of Richard J. Daley..."Vote Early, Vote Often".

Sharkboy Grows Up...

Hey blog fans, sorry for the little teaser yesterday. I was exhausted after a long afternoon of breaking and cutting concrete for tactical rescue training, and I still have the sore shoulders to prove it. Many of you know that I participate in the regional Tactical Rescue team and yesterday we got to play a bit. It was a good afternoon of teaching and breaking stuff.

Well it has been a couple of days so let me help catch you up...sit back and enjoy...

Thursday Jenny and I took the day off to go to the zoo with Sharkboy's pre-school. This is the 2nd year that both of us were able to go. It is a lot of fun to go places with the kids. They are all so curious and excited to be curious. We teamed up with another Mom...Quinn's Mom and Quinn. Sharkboy seems to be into the Big Cats...Tigers, Lions, Snow Leopards. As always the Prairie Dogs were a big hit with all of their burrows and play. Like most pre-school groups all of the kids had their name tags on their backs. You know, so they don't peel them off. There was one boy walking around and he had a different tag. It looked like a sunburst and this is what it said..."Gabe No Nuts". Seriously. Ok, now read it again. The 3 adults in the group laughed, and laughed and then made jokes as we walked around. Seriously...that Mom needs to proof read her name tag next time.

Friday for me has pretty much been covered. Jenny and Sharkboy planted flowers around the house and spent the day outside..."Blowing the Stink Off". I made a run by the house in the Engine while we were out getting dinner. All the neighbor kids were out, but the neighbor blowing up the inflatable trampoline was much more interesting than me. What ever happened to kids being excited about a firetrucks.

Today was a pretty big day. I worked the morning at a carseat clinic at our Sta. 1. It scares the hell out of me to see how people secure their kids in cars. To the many people that came through today...Kudos. Here is my little public service announcement. Have your seat installed by a certified car seat tech. If they don't have you sign a release, they most likely aren't certified. Also meaning they most likely don't know what they are doing. It needs to be done right. It is very important...but I shouldn't need to tell you that, they are our babies. Other than that, it went well and many people are going down the road safely due to taking a few minutes out of their morning. After that...I went to get a hair cut. Thank you Cassie, you are awesome! I always like to come and visit, oh yeah...and you keep me handsome. You Rock!

This afternoon our little man grew up...as the title suggested. I picked up his big boy bed. After some minor installation we were on our way. He is pretty pumped about it. I am thinking that if you come over to the house in the next several weeks you will be directed, by him, to check it out. After being able to lay down and read books in his bed with him tonight...I am proud to say: "Our Little Man is sleeping in a Big Boy bed".

That is really it for the updates, but wait, don't quit on me yet...

I have a couple of shout outs tonight. He doesn't read this, but thanks mattress store guy for the great deal on Sharkboy's big boy bed. Cassie, again...nice job lowering my ears today. Mom and Dad Edwards...Thank you for the support. Your definately family to us too...Thanks for hangin with me on this blog thing. Athena...great catch on the typo, funny thing is, I thought about that but it just seemed right when I read it. However I had been drinking Gentleman Jack on the Rocks while I was blogging. UNC...Congrats on the new ride. Scully...where is your update. Girl I know your busy, but throw me a bone...I miss your updates.

Well that is about all I have to offer tonight. Tomorrow is a work day...I will try to post tomorrow night (we will see).

So until next time...(help Gabe find his nuts...LOL)

No...that is not what I meant. Hey blog fans, sorry but today got away from me and I am just jumping on here to tell you that there will be a post tomorrow. I had Tactical Rescue training today and am tired and ready for bed(I got to break shit, it was awesome)...So until tomorrow...

I almost forgot...

Only 2 more days to vote in my poll(Thanks Athena). I am a little disappointed that only 6 people have voted...I sure hope that not only 6 people are reading my blog. So please show me some love and vote. I promise they will get better...it is my first.

Also watch for next weeks survey...I am think about a survey about my blog content. Stay tuned.

Be Kind, Be Safe.

Shalom my Peeps.

Looking forward to tomorrow...

Hey blog readers...I hope you all weathered the rain and gloom well today. I have to tell you I was on the phone with a friend today and I always try to find something possitive to say about the weather or current issue and this is what I came up with today. "Weathers not bad if your a fern"...it was met with laughter. Well enough weak attempts at humor...sit back and enjoy, but I must warn you, it won't be a very long one tonight (sorry, don't think I have ever said that before LOL)

Well today was spent at the part time gig. Lots of time on the forklift. Not really anything to report...that job really isn't very good for comedic value.

Sharkboy report: Tonight Sharkboy decided he would enter the world of a super hero. He put some underwear on his head using the leg hole for his eye hole and announced..."I am super underwear man"...it was priceless. He makes me so proud. Tomorrow's Sharkboy report will include the zoo update. Jenny and I are going as room parents. Should be loaded with blog worthy items.

I got to use some of my mechanical skills tonight. Sharkboy's bike had a flat tire. So after removing it and replacing the inner tube and then reinstalling the wheel, Sharkboy was up and running again. He payed me with a hug and told me that I was awesome. Thanks Sharkboy...your pretty cool yourself.

So that is all for now...oh yeah, and tomorrow I get my new blower. I am really jacked about this. It is one of those "Y" chromosome times in my life. You know one of those times when a guy gets a new tool. Many of you may not understand, but for those of you that do. You know the little bit of excitement that I am carrying with me.

Well, I am off to watch American Idol...against every fiber of my being and then it is sleepy sleepy time. So until tomorrow...

Be Kind, Be Safe.

Shalom my Peeps

Sun was out and the weather was beautiful...

Howdy blog fans...it has been a busy week so far. Mostly working at the part time gig, but I also have a little funny story to add. So sit back and enjoy the ride tonight...oh yeah, and feel free to enjoy an adult beverage (if your of age)...I am.

Monday was a typical Monday off from the fire house. I went to work at the part time gig. I was pretty productive. Got lots of little projects that I dug up completed and was able to finish a couple of others. At night I went to UNC's softball game. I packed a cooler this week. It was an awesome idea. AAK joined us as well. The cooler my friends was packed with the mixings for Gin and Tonics. However due to the strict no alcohol policy at the park we had to go undercover. AAK chose a Target soft drink cup, UNC had an old Mc D's cup and I sported the Starbucks coffee cup from the morning. It was a great time...and we felt like we were getting away with something. After the game we headed for pizza at Barnaby's...all I have to say is YUM! The only notable event there was UNC's coach drank a pitcher of beer by himself in less than an hour...oh yeah and ate 2 pieces of pizza. Wow...

Today I took Sharkboy to school. I had drop off duty. That went well...I always enjoy dropping him off. I am usually the only Dad...and that is alright with me. I worked the part time gig...it was beautiful outside and it was tough not to just leave and go to the golf course. It was a great exercise in self control. I came home and mowed and enjoyed a cigar afterwords...life is good. Sharkboy requested crunchy tacos tonight and his wish appeared to be Jenny's command.

Now it was my turn to clean Sharkboy in the bath. I usually let him play for awhile...coming and going and letting him have a good time with his bath toys. Well tonight was no different, except for what is to follow. Sharkboy discovered his little boy parts...he was laying on his back and calling me. When I walked in...he was at full mast. He said "Daddy it is stiff" I began to laugh...he called Jenny and she came in and he said "Look Mommy it is stiff"....now both parents are paralyzed with laughter. He then proceeded to say "hey, look what else I can do and he began to make it bounce..." I almost threw up I was laughing so hard. Jenny walked away to avoid the uncomfortable nature of what was going on and I had my opportunity to let him know that it will do that sometimes...he seemed to understand and finished his bath. OMG nobody warned us about this part of parenting.

Well that is about it for now...working the part time gig tomorrow. Zoo trip with Sharkboy's school on Thursday. So until next time...

Be Kind, Be Safe...

Shalom my peeps.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...Happy Mothers Day.

Hey blog fans...

Been a busy couple of days...nothing too monumental, just lots of time away from the house. So sit back and enjoy the ride. This one won't really take too long.

Finished up a 36 hour shift yesterday at 7pm. It was uneventful. No calls, but plenty of inspections. Did get to tie up some loose ends I had on some projects though. After I got off work we met UNC at his new apartment and went out for dinner. It was a lot of fun. We went to a restaurant in Elkhart called "The Chubby Trout". Good food and they had a great selection of both beers as well as Martinis. I enjoyed "Upland Wheat" while Jenny had a Raspberry Ale...mine was yummy, and Jenny reported the same.

After dinner CG and his wife met us with his sister in-law and her annoying fiance. He was one of those guys that had to have a story to equal yours or top yours. Everytime I would stop telling a story he would come up with some story that was similar...problem was...he was drunk and couldn't tell a story. He continually got up and went to the bar to hang out with his buddies that were there...I think he may have been intimidated by me. Not in a physical way...just I was on a story roll, and he was...well drunk.

Once we got home it was off to bed. Jenny was forced to the couch last night. Between the dog and I, I was told we were snoring pretty good. Sorry honey...you know what beer and exhaustion equal with me. I am very sorry you had to sleep on the couch...however Daisy was able to stretch out on her side and pretty much stay off me, so we slept pretty hard.

Back to work this morning. However I had trade time so I could enjoy "Movin' Out" at the Morris with Jenny. It was a great show. Lots of great music and the dancing was incredible. The lead male does this thing at one point in the show where he is face down on the floor and walking backwards on his hands. It is incredible...but the most incredible thing I saw was there was this girl in the final number. She was standing on one foot with her other leg straight up her body...knee in front of her face and she kissed it. I think I am in love...

After the show Jenny and I enjoyed one of our favorite restaurants, The Vine. It was yummy and I was happy to get some time to just chat with her.

Well now I am back at work and getting ready for bed. So on the plans for tomorrow there is work at the Part Time Gig and UNC has a softball game I just may pack a cooler for. So sleep well tonight blog readers...and remember:

Be Kind and Be Safe.

Shalom my Peeps.

Hey Blog fans...

Hey if you look to your left you will see the first of several fun things that are going to show up on my blog. Take a second and vote...I am really excited about the potential this move gives me for creative and fun stuff. Stay tuned for more...

Hey, still in the throws of this 36 hour turn. Nothing monumental to report. Some Jackass did decide to throw their 4 bags of trash from McDonalds all over our front drive, but we have that cleaned up now and hopefully they feel better now that they are rid of that hindrence.

Well that is all for now...Be Kind, Be Safe....Shalom my Peeps!

The first of many....

Well howdy blog readers...many of you I am sure are coming over from my Myspace blog. Let me first thank you for your continued support and hopefully this blog will not let you down.

Well it has been several days since my last blog. I believe we were just getting ready to leave for Indy for the Casting Crowns/Leeland concert. But it has been a pretty fun week so far, so sit back and enjoy the ride...and drink 'em if you got 'em. I sadly will not be writing this under the influence since I am in the midst of a 36 hour turn. Here it goes...

Well Jenny and I made the journey south to Indy for a concert at the State Fair Grounds. It was Casting Crowns and Leeland (www.castingcrowns.com or www.Leelandonline.com) if you want to check them out. It was a great concert. The older I get, I guess the more I appreciate this but we noticed something while at the concert. At Christian Rock concerts if someone bumps into you they say "oh...sorry" or "excuse me" but at secular concerts it would most likely be more like..."watch where your fucking going". I digress...Mark Hall once again had the crowd in the palm of his hand and moved many hearts. He is a very powerful speaker and I enjoyed the concert very much.

We made the tedious drive north, back home on Saturday. But not before Jenny and I got to meet up with one of her friends, the future Mrs. Lobo. We always like to visit with her. She is a blast...oh yeah and Jenny also found a bikini. This has been a long hard search for the bikini...but alas, it has been found.

Let me see, Sharkboy seems to over his little battle of not listening. He is back to be a well adjusted 4 y/o little boy. I am not saying that he always listens, but he is back to as normal as he can be. He made Jenny a Mother's Day card. It is decorated like a 4 y/o would decorate a card and his teachers have this little form letter insert that they glued inside. It is a little saying that hey prompt a response from him and then they write it in. It reads. "Roses are Red and Violets are Blue. I love you as much as _______." This is where you would add his response and what was hand written is was "Gavin" He loves his Mommy as much as his friend Gavin...wow. Can't wait to see how much he loves his Daddy.

Monday went and watched UNC play softball. There was a dude there straight out to the late '80's. No kidding. He had on Zubba pants and a muscle shirt. On his arms he had wrist bands, elbow band and some sweatbands on his biceps. Best we could figure is that they were safeties for his guns.

Insook our Korean neighbor invited us over for some traditional food the other night. She is a professor at a local university (Not the one with the football team, the one accross the street) and was having some of her students that were graduating over for dinner and invited us to join them. The food was good, but it tore me up. Sharkboy entertained the girls for the better part of half an hour. I just sat back and enjoyed the show. He is such a little ham. We are going to have to do some research into where he gets that from.

The rest of the week has been work. I am in the middle of a 36 hour shift and am looking forward to dinner tomorrow with Jenny, UNC and CG and his wife at the Chubby Trout.

Hopefully you will like the change in format on the blog...I will be simulcasting it for a couple days, but after that...Blogspot all the way folks.

So remember: Be Kind, Be Safe.

Shalom my Peeps.
